Parenting The QBQ Way + A Giveaway

I can’t think of a better way to wrap up our week on legacy, than to tell you about this amazing resource. I was first introduced to John G. Miller from QBQ at Beech Retreat. His keynote was my absolute favorite while I was there. He blessed us with some really great material at the conference. In fact, I didn’t even wait until I got home to begin digging into Parenting the QBQ Wayone of the books that he sent home with us. I had more than half of it read before my plane ever touched back on the ground.

QBQ Way

QBQ is all about asking the question behind the question, and taking personal accountability. So what does that have to do with parenting? EVERYTHING! This book is changing the way my husband, and I are raising our children. Instead of always asking, why are they always doing this or that, we have started asking ourselves QBQ questions to see what we need to do to fix the situation.

Yes, children make mistakes and they need guidance along the way. More than that though, they need parents who are actively involved in their lives. They don’t need another best friend, or someone to take the back seat when it comes to their decisions and actions. They need someone who will not be passive in their lives. Our children, believe it or not are crying out for discipline and correction. They need parents who will take the time to be present in their lives.

I could sit here and list all the points the book has, but you really need to read this one for yourself. My amazing friends at QBQ.com have sent me 3 copies of Parenting the QBQ Way to give to 3 of my readers.

God’s Promises for Girls and Boys + Jesus Calling Giveaway

GodsPromises3

These sweet little books are offered by Tommy Nelson. God’s Promises for Boys and God’s Promises for Girls are a great read for your little ones. My oldest son and my daughter each have this sitting on their night stands for night time reading.

These books give them children promises to read from the word. It gives them scriptures to stand on for different things they may be going through. I think it is a great reminder that though they may be small, they still deal with emotional things on a daily basis.

A few of my favorites from the books are:

  • God’s promises when you feel angry.
  • God’s promises when you are lonely.
  • God’s promises when you are afraid.

When you child is dealing with something they can turn to that section of the book. They then get a list of scriptures to see what God’s Word says concerning that area.

Now for the giveaway from Tommy Nelson! They have been so kind to offer a set of Jesus Calling Devotionals to our readers. This is a great set for you and your children. You can each read along in your new daily devotional. In our house I use the kids version for our morning devotional before starting school.
