Valentine’s Day With Kids

With Valentine’s Day only a few weeks away, I thought I would share how my hubby and I keep it special. With 4 kiddos and a lack of babysitters {we will only leave them with my parents} we usually do not get to go out for sweetheart day. Valentine’s Day with kids can be fun too!

There are so many parents in the same boat either because of a tight budget or a babysitter shortage. Just because you can’t go out on a fancy date doesn’t mean that the day can’t be special. My 4 little ones are my sweet mini valentines too. I try to make the day special for them.

Here are some ideas to do with your kids:

Make heart shaped pancakes for breakfast
Have a box of chocolates waiting for them when they get up
Make pink cupcakes with heart sprinkles together
Have craft time together- Make homemade valentines for loved ones and friends
Make a special dinner
Set the table with your best dishes and use candle sticks for light

For us, our kids are our life! We love to celebrate with them. Of course, we like to have our own time too. We usually have an early bedtime for the little ones. That way we can have our own version of date night. We rent a movie and have a special treat {that we have hidden from the kiddos so it is still there for our movie.} Matt and I enjoy spending time together. So for us it isn’t about the money, it is about spending quality time together. You can make memories with your kids and still have time with just your spouse.
