2012 was the Best Year Yet!

I must admit January of 2012 was the worst ever. So many things kept hitting like a ton of bricks. First we found out we would have to move AGAIN! Then just a week or so later I lost my Grandpa. With only being in the very first month of the new year I wondered what else was going to hit in 2012.

That is when things started to take a turn for the better. {thank God!} I can not even begin to express the faithfulness shown to my family throughout this year. So many wonderful things happened and are continuing to happen. From our house purchase literally falling in our laps at the perfect time, to this blog taking off faster than I could have ever imagined.

Cook Family Chronicles launched in June of this year. I can hardly believe how far this little adventure has come in such a very short time. I have seen His hand at work throughout the entire journey. I can only dream of what 2013 will hold. I know big things are in store. I am so very thankful for each and every one of you who are following me on this crazy fun adventure!

My husband’s job has been the biggest God send of all. This year was full of promotion and blessings for him. I couldn’t be more proud of him, and I can’t wait to see how far he goes in 2013.

As this year comes to a close, I look forward to what lies ahead. I have so many dreams for this next year. We have some things up our sleeves for 2013 and I can’t wait till everything starts falling into place. I go into 2013 with so much excitement I can barely sleep at night. I pray each of you a blessed and prosperous New Year! May 2013 be all you imagine and more.

The Girls Still Got It Review

I was given the opportunity to read and review The Girls Still Got It. This a great book by Liz Curtis Higgs. Liz has a unique style in her writing that is conversational. You feel as if she is talking directly to you as you read. She has a way of pulling you into the story so that you understand the story of Ruth with more clarity than before. Liz has a way of making you picture yourself right there with Ruth and Naomi all throughout the book.

The story of Ruth is one of my favorite love stories in the Bible. Though I have read it dozens of times, the story now has more light and leaning for me. I have more understanding and appreciation for what Naomi and Ruth both went through. I could feel their pain and dispair, and could put myself right there with the feelings when things started to turn around for them.
This book will have you looking at Ruth with a new light and seeing points you would have not thought of before.

Zondervan Style Line Bible Review + Giveaway

You all know I have a love for books. My love for Bibles is even more. I love a crisp new Bible that has so much to be discovered. I have given away more Bibles than I can count. I usually buy one with the intention of keeping it for myself, but usually God has me bless someone with it instead.

These Bibles are great because they are all lightweight. This makes it easy to carry one in your purse. I don’t know about you, but I am constantly sitting in the car waiting on someone. So, this is a great way to have a Bible with you at all times.

Personally the Flora and Fauna Collection is my favorite. There were so many beautiful Bible covers to choose from I almost couldn’t decide!
